Mega TV receives 7 Emmys.

Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) announced that MEGA TV Channel 22 was the honored recipient of seven EMMY® Awards. The awards were presented by the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, on Saturday, December 1, at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida.

Mega TV’s team won EMMY® Awards for:
“Best Graphic Arts: Graphics & Animation and Arts Direction” – “Xpediente” show opener. MEGA TV won two awards in this category.
“Best Promotion-Program-Single Spot/Campaign” – “Pronósticos” spot.
“Best Commercial” – “Levántate Con Él Vacilón.”
“Best Nostalgia Program” – “Mega Especial – Johnny Ventura.”
“Best Art/Entertainment Program” – “Mega Especial – John Leguizamo.”
“Best On Camera Talent – Program Host/Moderator” – Miguel González, “Handyman VIP.”

“During the past two years, MEGA TV has become one of the best Spanish-alternative television stations serving the Hispanic community,” said Cynthia Hudson-Fernández, Executive Vice President and General Creative Director of Spanish Broadcasting System. “If we compare our progress with other TV stations that operate in this zone, we can proudly state that MEGA TV is seeing record growth in the South Florida market and receiving unprecedented recognition from viewers and critics. The Emmys that MEGA TV has won are an important part of that recognition.”

As a cable channel, MEGA TV has won the most number of EMMY Awards from the “2007 Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards” behind only the local stations, which are owned by national chains. These local stations have had several more years of exposure and presence in the market than MEGA TV has.

“We wish to thank the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for honoring MEGA TV with these prestigious Awards,” Ms. Hudson-Fernandez continued. “In addition, we would also like to send out a congratulatory message to our employees for their efforts in building MEGA TV into a dynamic and successful TV channel. These EMMY® Awards are a testament to their hard work and dedication.”
