October 29, 2007
Interep announced that its recently created Hispanic Independent Television Sales (HITS) rep firm has signed its first client, Pappas Telecasting Companies’ TuVisión, a Spanish-language television network. HITS was created earlier this month to provide national ad sales representation to independent Hispanic television stations.
Tom Marsillo, President of HITS, said, “We are delighted to welcome TuVisión as the first member of the HITS family. We look forward to working with TuVisión’s stations to help them garner a healthy share of the expanding advertising dollars earmarked for Hispanic audiences.”
Pappas Telecasting Companies, the largest privately-held, commercial television broadcast group in the United States, runs the recently-launched TuVisión network on five of the company’s television stations: KAZH-TV/Houston; KTNC-TV, serving the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose and Sacramento-Stockton-Modesto television markets; KAZR/Reno, Nevada; KAZO/Omaha, Nebraska; and KAZJ/Sioux City, Iowa.
Fernando Acosta, Senior Vice President of the TuVisión Stations Group, said, “We believe that HITS is well-positioned to effectively represent our exciting programming lineup to the Hispanic Agency community. As TuVisión and HITS are both emerging companies, we look forward to growing together as we add more stations and markets to our distribution system in the months and years ahead.”
