Ali Shepard ex-KSOL-FM/San Francisco GM dies in accident.

According to Radio Ink, Ali Shepherd, who helped launch KSOL San Francisco in 1996 and later served as Hispanic Broadcasting Corp./San Francisco’s VP/GM, was struck by a car and killed in San Francisco on October 12. She was 53.

Shepherd and her husband were walking with another couple when a motorist drove into an intersection as they were crossing, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Shepherd was struck and killed, and the woman in the other couple was injured as her husband pulled her away from the car.

The 90-year-old motorist, who pulled over after the accident, was interviewed by police and released pending further investigation.

Shepherd was named one of Radio Ink’s Most Influential Women in Radio in 2003. After leaving HBC, she founded the Latino Group ad agency.
