Valdés Ryan – Editorial Director at Latina magazine.

Latina Media Ventures LLC (LMV) announced that Mimi Valdés Ryan has been appointed Editorial Director. Currently a Senior Contributing Editor of Latina, Valdés Ryan takes on her new position effective November 5th.

Valdés Ryan, a highly credentialed industry veteran, joined Latina in August 2006 reporting to Betty Cortina, Editorial Director. Cortina praised the appointment of Valdés Ryan, her hand-picked successor, as Editorial Director stating “Mimi’s genuine passion and connection to the lifestyle interests shared by Latina’s readers will be of tremendous appeal to today’s bicultural Hispanic woman. There is no question that Mimi is the perfect choice to continue and evolve Latina’s unique editorial voice and direction.”

Prior to joining Latina, Valdés Ryan served as Editor-in-Chief of Vibe magazine, which received numerous industry awards under her leadership. During her eight-year tenure at Vibe/Spin Ventures, Valdés Ryan developed extensive experience and relationships in the fields of fashion, beauty, celebrity and music.
