SBS & MEGA 97.9 celebrate ‘El Jukeo’ one year anniversary.

Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) announced that its evening show “El Jukeo” transmitted by WSKQ Mega 97.9 FM from Monday to Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. will be celebrating its one year anniversary on the 21st of September.

Radiating mischief, ingenuity and good humor, these two Latin young men are the new owners of New York’s afternoons with their extremely original style. “Our constant interaction with the public characterizes us”, mentions Joel (“The Intruder”). “Our way of thinking is fresh and different…we have an open dialogue with our listeners…and this hypnotizes our public…. we present the opposite point of view…and give the listener an opportunity to voice their opinion in an open forum”.

The two new hosts for “El Jukeo,” Joel Santiago and Epi Colón, have great track record. Joel used to work at La Mega 106.9 FM in Puerto Rico, the sister station for La Mega 97.9 FM. “Joel was born in Puerto Rico and raised in New York. He knows the New York market,” added Jackie Torres, Director of Marketing and Promotions for Mega 97.9 FM. “Epi also has an impressive background and worked for La Mega for two years before joining “El Jukeo.” After those two years, he returned to Puerto Rico, but came back to La Mega for a chance to work with Joel. These two bright radio personalities have an incredible chemistry which allows them to work well together and attract a great audience.”

“Joel is bilingual and he is the contemporary boy, while Epi is a bit more popular, he is the more provincial one. Their differences is what creates the magic in the air, they both have different voices, different styles, they complement each other totally, they are like two mischievous boys – doing a live and original show “, concluded the executive of WSKQ Mega 97.9 FM.
