Telemundo’s ‘Rumbo al Mundial – Mexico vs. Brazil’ highest ranking telecast in NTI.

Telemundo reported an unprecedented rating performance for the “Rumbo al Mundial” telecast of the Mexican National Soccer Team vs. Brazil game. Telemundo’s “Rumbo al Mundial” live telecast of the soccer match between Mexico and Brazil on Wednesday, September 12th, reached 6,522,000 total unduplicated viewers, of which 66% were Adults 18-49 (4,315,000).*

The Mexico vs. Brazil match was the highest rated Telemundo telecast among Adults 18-49 and Persons 2 plus in NTI history.

The “Rumbo Al Mundial” game was also the highest rated match in the network’s history of the NTI measurement among: Adults 18-49 (2,001,000 impressions), Men 18-49 (1,433,000 impressions), Adults 18-34 (1,098,000 impressions), Men 18-34 (765,000 impressions) and Persons 2 plus (2,882,000 impressions).

According to NHSI ratings, the Mexico vs. Brazil “Rumbo al Mundial” telecast delivered higher ratings for Adults 18-49 than Univision in Los Angeles (8.2 vs. 2.4) and Chicago (10.9 vs. 10.3). Among Hispanic Men 18-49, it was also the leader in the market in Los Angeles (11.4), New York (9.2) and Chicago (13.5).

In the NSI markets for Adults 18-49, “Rumbo al Mundial” beat all general market and Spanish language stations in Los Angeles (3.7) and San Francisco (2.1).

In Las Vegas, the game was #1 in the time slot beating the rest of the Spanish language stations in the market with a 3.3 NSI household rating.

In Houston, the Mexico vs. Brazil game was the highest rated Mexican National Soccer Team match of the 2007 season delivering a 5.2 rating among homes in the NSI sample.
