Mazda finally parked at d expósito & Partners.

After the industry-required 90-day transition period, the MAZDA account completed its exit from its former Latino agency, The Bravo Group, and moved its business to its new AOR, d expósito & Partners in New York.

According to Fernando Fernández, partner/chief client officer, to bolster MAZDA’s Hispanic activity, d expósito & Partners has hired Juan Carlos Aguirre, who joins d expósito & Partners as Account Director, and Juan José Quintana, who will be MAZDA’s head creative director. Both Aguirre and Quintana will be deployed to Newport Beach, California where they will interface with all MAZDA clients and integrate efforts with Doner Advertising, MAZDA’s general market agency.

“Juan Carlos and Juan José are the latest addition to our existing base of high caliber, next-generation talent at d expósito and Partners,” says Fernández. “They add dimension to our agency team. Juan Carlos is an accomplished automotive specialist with success at targeting all facets of the Hispanic Market, and Juan José is a seasoned and versatile ‘creative generalist’ whose talents go well beyond advertising, traditional or otherwise.”

Juan Carlos Aguirre will lead the business on a day-to-day basis. He comes from Conill Advertising where he worked on the Toyota Account. His recent work there helped his team and agency to win an Effie Award in the Hispanic market category for Toyota’s Yaris, and 2006’s Marketing & Medios Campaign of the Year for Camry. Prior to that, Juan Carlos worked on the Ford Motor Company account at Zubi Advertising, The American Honda Motor Company at La Agencia de Orcí and the California Lincoln – Mercury Dealers Association at Cruz/Kravetz:IDEAS where the young UCLA graduate started his career.

Juan José Quintana, a widely-known, award-winning creative director with ample automotive experience, will help d expósito & Partners lead the creative development for MAZDA. The recent creative reviewer for Hispanic Market Weekly, Quintana had previously been Executive VP/Creative Director at La Agencia De Orcí where he created successful campaigns for HONDA. His creative leadership contributed to the success of memorable campaigns for Pepsi-Cola, KFC, Anheuser-Busch, Allstate, Nestle, Domecq, Verizon, Wells-Fargo, American Express Moneygram, and MCI. Deutsch in Los Angeles and Y&R/Bravo were two other agencies where he contributed with distinguished work for Mitsubishi, Chevron, AT&T and Mattel. The vibrant writer, who started as a copywriter at DMB&B in Mexico, has also written screenplays, novels, short stories, poetry and has illustrated a children’s book. To enhance his creativity, Juan José recently became a certified chef reinforcing his view of advertising and marketing as disciplines that demand the right combination of ingredients.
