National Osteoporosis Foundation kicks-off Hispanic awareness campaign.

The National Osteoporosis Foundation estimates that 49 percent of Hispanic women age 50 and older are estimated to have low bone mass, while 10 percent have full blown osteoporosis. With the help of Dallas-based iNSPIRE!, the National Osteoporosis Foundation is driving awareness of this disease within the Latino community.

iNSPIRE!’s first project for the NOF includes a campaign designed to educate Hispanics on the importance of bone health. The campaign is being supported with national television and radio public service announcements that will air in markets across the U.S. through the end of the year. The campaign is also supported with print collateral. The tagline “Somos un apoyo para ti” or “Standing tall for you,” informs Hispanics of steps they can take to decrease their chances of developing osteoporosis. In addition, iNSPIRE! is working in partnership with Moroch Partners to create bilingual informational toolkits that will be provided to the physician community.

“This is the first Hispanic-focused awareness campaign for the National Osteoporosis Foundation, and we are honored that they asked iNSPIRE! to handle this project,” said Tommy Thompson, president of iNSPIRE!. “We are looking forward to working with the NOF to drive awareness of the prevalence of this disease in the Hispanic community. We know this will be a great partnership that benefits many Hispanics.”
