El Diario/La Prensa celebrates the National Puerto Rican Day Parade.

This year El Diario celebrates the 50th anniversary of the National Puerto Rican Day Parade with a very special supplement. This year’s issue will consist of 112 pages covering 50 years of the event’s history, with a photo essay. Also included will be the coverage of El Diario/LA PRENSA’s history during those fifty years. Several pictures will be facilitated by the Centro for Puerto Rican Studies at Hunter College.

El Diario/La Prensa’s editorial team explores the meaning of this event for so many Puerto Ricans who have witnessed its evolution. Residents of the Corsi Senior Center share the history of the Parade, in their own words. And, as part of a tribute to the contributions made by Puerto Ricans to the United States, the supplement will contain a section entitled, “Así son” This section will feature the work of photographer, Oscar Durand, capturing the every day activity of our Puerto Rican heroes.

“This supplement is full of memories, history, and pride. It is our biggest supplement in the last ten years, and definitely a collectible item.” said Rossana Rosado, Publisher and CEO of El Diario/LA Prensa.
