NEW 2007-2008 PROGRAMMING ON TELEMUNDO:

Monday-Friday PRIMETIME

NOVELAS

Telemundo’s 2007-2008 season promises more high-quality, original novelas for Hispanics.

Written by Eric Vonn (Tierra de Pasiones), Telemundo brings an urban melodrama with an intricate web of stories revolving around love, marriage, parenthood, treason, friendship and passion in “El Otro Lado del Amor” (The Other Side of Love); starring Lorena Rojas (El Cuerpo del Deseo), Mauricio Islas (Los Plateados) and Aylin Mujica (Marina). Destiny has put two lost souls face to face at the worst possible moment of their lives and in one glace, their souls recognized each other. “El Otro Lado del Amor” is a modern, urban version of Romeo and Juliet, where love finds its way despite the obstacles found on the road.

A moving melodrama about the great passion between a man and a woman and the man who comes between them, Telemundo presents “La Traicion” (The Betrayal); starring Mario Cimarro (El Cuerpo del Deseo), Sandra Echeverria (Marina) and Gabriel Porras (Prisionera). A handsome, somewhat eccentric and enigmatic young man known around town for his seductive powers over women is marked by tragedy as he suffers from an incurable condition. This young man meets a beautiful aristocratic girl with whom he experiences an unexpected jolt of passion that bonds them together. Their love soon becomes the talk of the town and as he gets ready to marry the love of his life, tragedy strikes once again. Will he find happiness ever again?

This season, Telemundo proudly presents “Doña Bárbara,” based on a novel that is considered one of Latin America’s literary classics; starring Gabriela Spanic (Tierra de Pasiones/Prisionera) and Christian Meier (Zorro: la Espada y la Rosa/La Tormenta). “Doña Bárbara” tells the story of a courageous and strong-willed woman who is hardened by her troubled past and must confront her own deep-seeded vulnerabilities in face of an impossible love.

Telemundo brings an enchanting magical story about four very unique women that were sisters in a past life in “Las Brujas de South Beach” (The Witches of South Beach); starring Natalia Streignard (La Tormenta), Ana Lucia Dominguez, Jullye Giliberti and Catherine Siachoque (Tierra de Pasiones). These women’s lives are reunited in modern day South Beach and must come together to solve the mysteries of love and death that were left unanswered. As they put their differences aside, they join forces to vanquish evil forces that once tormented their 12th century existence in Spain.

In “Idolos de Juventud,” (Youth Idols) a popular music producer launches the careers of Mexico’s greatest voices, among them his wife. Their marriage is not a happy one, largely due to the sizes of their egos, leaving no place for love. After discovering that his wife is no longer the star she used to be, he must create a new star by producing a reality show to find the next big voice. He discovers two stars that develop a love connection when they share a magical moment on stage.
