Latina Media Ventures appoints new leadership.

Latina Media Ventures LLC (LMV) announced that Peter Glusker has been named Chief Executive Officer and Cynthia R. Lewis has been named to the new position of President. Mr. Glusker and Ms. Lewis will lead LMV as the Latina brand continues to evolve into the premier multi-platform media brand for U.S. Hispanic women. Fabio Freyre, who has served as CEO of LMV since 2003, will be leaving the company in order to pursue other interests.

Mr. Glusker most recently served as Senior Vice President of Viacom Inc.’s Digital Media Group where he led cross-company digital media efforts, and managed its portfolio of interactive investments. Ms. Lewis most recently was with Hearst Corporation where, during her twelve-year tenure, she served as Vice President / Publisher of Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar and SHOP Etc.

Molly F. Ashby, Chief Executive Officer of Solera Capital LLC, LMV’s majority shareholder, said: “The Board welcomes the new leadership team of Latina Media Ventures. Peter and Cindy bring the skills, experience and focus necessary to build on LMV’s leadership position and take the company to the next level of growth with online, consumer events and other media.

“We thank Fabio Freyre for his dedication and enthusiasm over the past several years that enabled Latina magazine to reach important milestones.” Mr. Glusker added: “I am thrilled to lead LMV at a time when the Hispanic market is shaping America’s future. I have tremendous respect for what the Latina brand means to this community and believe the company’s media platforms have exceptional potential to enhance the lives of Hispanic women. I look forward to working with Solera Capital, Cindy Lewis, Betty Cortina and the rest of the great team at LMV to grow its businesses, create exciting new products, and provide new ways for our advertisers and business partners to reach an important and rapidly growing consumer
group.”

Ms. Lewis said: “The opportunity to join Peter Glusker, Betty Cortina and the LMV team is exceptional. With its focus on celebrating the culture, honoring the past and enriching the future of Hispanic women in the United States, Latina magazine is a trusted authority in the Hispanic market. The magazine has accomplished so much in its short history, and still has a great deal of untapped potential, both as a standalone property and in synergies with LMV’s other platforms. We will capitalize on all of these exciting avenues of growth in the coming years.”

Betty Cortina, Editorial Director of Latina Magazine, said: “I am pleased that Peter Glusker and Cindy Lewis are joining LMV’s leadership team. The Latina brand has extraordinary resonance among U.S. Hispanic women and great potential to deepen that connection in our community. Peter and Cindy recognize the considerable opportunity before us, and have the
ability and drive to lead our team to capitalize on it.”
