Peter Stringham:back to fix Y&R Brands after Ann Fudge.

WPP Group, the London giant that owns Young & Rubicam, Ogilvy and other great ad and media agencies around the world, is trying to get Y&R back to its good old days of glory.

Peter Stringham, who most recently was the ad and marketing leader at HSBC Holdings, is leaving the international bank to come back to Y&R Brands where he will assume the post previously held by Ann Fudge who left after much controversy around her three-year stint during which she did not spark new business and saw many clients leave. Resignations among leadership were also countless.

Stringham had held the main post at Y&R and the Canadian operations of Omnicom Group Inc’s BBDO. The ad leader, brought back by WPP’s Sir Martin Sorrell, has been praised for consolidating all HSBC’s marketing efforts at WPP.
