mun2 announced the appointment of Lisa Hackett to the position of Vice President of Marketing, effective immediately. The announcement was made by Alex Pels, General Manager of mun2, to whom Hackett will report.
“Lisa has been a huge value to mun2 since joining us as a consultant and has played a critical role in the development and growth of our brand,” said Pels. “As Vice President of Marketing, Lisa will help propel mun2 to the next level with her creativity, extensive experience, and keen sense of the needs and wants of youth audiences.”
In her new position, to be based in Los Angeles, Hackett will be responsible for the overall development, execution and implementation of all marketing efforts for the network, including trade, consumer, music, events and off-air initiatives. As the lead for mun2 brand strategy and management, she will also be responsible for the creation of all advertising and merchandise.
Hackett joined mun2 in March 2006 as a consultant charged with identifying and securing strategic marketing and branding opportunities for the network. During this time, she spearheaded various key partnerships for mun2 with organizations such as the New York and Los Angeles Latino International Film Festivals, Voto Latino, Bienestar and Lifebeat—giving mun2 a voice in important pro-social issues such as voting and AIDS awareness.
Prior to her role at mun2, Hackett was most recently at MTV Networks International, where she served as Vice President and later as Senior Vice President of Programming, Marketing & Operations. There, she coordinated programming, production and marketing activities of MTV Networks International’s TV channels and Web sites throughout the Asia Pacific, Canada, Europe, Latin American and Russia, including the VH1 and Nickelodeon brands. She also oversaw TV channel and Web site launches in new markets, international talent and artist relations and marketing alliances.
