ESPN Deportes will provide LIVE coverage of the Dominican Baseball League finals, beginning with game #1, featuring historic rivals Tigres del Licey facing Águilas Cibaeñas. Major League pitcher José Lima will open tonight’s game against Tigres del Licey.
Some of the major leaguers on Águilas Cibaeñas’ roster include Baltimore Orioles Miguel Tejada, New York Yankees Melky Cabrera, Boston Red Sox Wily Mo Peña, and Cincinnati Reds Edwin Encarnación. Major Leaguers on Tigres del Licey’s roster include New York Mets Anderson Hernandez and Jorge Sosa, Detroit Tigers Carlos Peña, Philadelphia Phillies Carlos Ruiz, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Eric Aybar, and Washington Nationals D’Angelo Jimenez.
Pitching legend Juan Marichal, the only Dominican- born player in the Hall of Fame, will provide commentary and analysis on ESPN Deportes telecasts. Joining Marichal for play-by-play will be veteran ESPN commentator Ernesto Jerez. Kevin Cabral and Carlos Jose Lugo will act as field reporters.
