October 13, 2006
Titan Global Holdings, Inc. announced that its Titan Communications Division will launch a significant expansion of its wireless telecommunications business with the new Picante Movil brand, offering product and services designed specifically to address consumers in the nation’s fast-growing Hispanic market segment.
The Picante Movil™ wireless product marks the first brand extension of the Company’s Picante prepaid calling card business, already a proven and successful brand name among Spanish-speaking consumers, with millions of unique products sold through Titan’s extensive network of approximately 60,000 retailers.
With the expanded offerings, Picante Movil is anticipated to drive $15 million in revenue and $2 million in EBITDA for Titan’s T Wireless division.
The introduction of Titan’s new suite of prepaid wireless products under the Picante Movil brand followed the Company’s extensive review of market data on the Hispanic market, which is the fastest growing market sector demonstrating a preference towards prepaid transactions.
“The launch of Picante Movil gives us a very advantageous position to grow our wireless phone operations by offering highly desirable and competitive mobile phone services and products to the same Hispanic population already who know and trust our Picante calling cards,” said Bryan Chance, Chief Executive Officer of Titan Global Holdings.
“Because of the success of the Picante product line, we have powerful opportunities for expanding our wireless MVNO subscriber base,” added Mr. Chance. “By leveraging the 35 million prepaid phone cards Oblio sells annually, as well as our existing distribution channels and the integration of our expanding E-Commerce presence, we are confident we will continue to grow our MVNO subscriber base in a profitable manner.”
“Picante Movil is specifically designed for this vibrant segment as customers can load denominations as low as five dollars and subsequently keep their phone active for 30 days,” said Kurt Jensen, President and CEO of Titan’s Communication Division. “Our objective is to continue to enable connectivity and consumption for millions of first- and second-generation Americans.”
