Telemundo announced it is off to the strongest season start in ten years in weekday prime, delivering its best October performance in the network’s history, according to data provided by Nielsen Media Research. October marks thirteen consecutive months of year-over-year growth for Telemundo among Hispanic Adults 18-49, capturing a primetime average rating of 3.2 (672,000 viewers), up 3% over last year (653,000). The network’s steady growth comes despite the declining performance experienced by other Spanish-language competitors.

In the 7:00pm hour, La Viuda de Blanco delivered a 3.1 rating, garnering a 19% ratings increase over last Oct’05 (2.6) among A18-49.
In the 8:00pm hour, the finale of Tierra de Pasiones (10/24/06) averaged a 5.5 rating, making it the 4th highest rated finale for an 8:00pm novela, and is the 6th highest rated finale ever for Telemundo.
The recently premiered Marina (10/16/06) averaged a 3.8 rating in its first two weeks on the air. Marina has increased the time-period’s performance by 15% vs. last year’s time-period average (3.3).
In the 9:00pm hour, the premiere of Amor Mio on 10/25/06 captured a 3.8 rating, making it the 5th highest rated premiere ever for Telemundo. In its first week, Amor Mio averaged a 3.5 rating, improving the Oct’06 time-period average prior to launch (3.2) by 9%.
Amores averaged a 2.9 rating in Oct’06 and Decisiones finished the month at a 3.0 rating, up 7% vs. last year (2.8).
