Univision 23 expands morning News coverage in South Florida.

Univision 23’s morning newscast “Al Amanecer” (At Sunrise) will expand its one-hour format to two-hours starting Monday, October 30th. South Florida families are starting their days earlier and Univision 23 in Miami will now wake up with them and provide additional weather and traffic reporting as well as expanded local news coverage and events of special significance to South Florida’s growing community.

“South Floridian’s lifestyles are evolving and so have their needs and Univision 23’s mission is to serve the changing needs of this community,” said Luis Fernandez-Rocha, Vice President and General Manager, Univision 23. “The two hour edition of ‘Al Amanecer’ will give us the opportunity to provide our viewers with all the information they need to start their day well informed.”

“Al Amanecer” will continue to be led by co-anchors Ivan Donoso and Eileen Cardet, and include reports from Univision 23’s Emmy Award winning news team as well as up to the minute weather updates by the popular Jackie Guerrido. The early morning line-up will also include popular feature segments such as Club de Libros 23, the weekly school reading segment with Maria Fernanda Lopez; Luces, Camara, Accion, with Pamela Silva providing the latest from the entertainment world; Que Onda, with Jackie Guerrido offering the full rundown on weekend events and activities; and Secretos de Pesca, with Captain Luis Gonzalez.

The addition of an extra hour will offer vital information to working families on important issues such as immigration, health, education, finances, politics, international news, and local sports highlights as well as extended weather and traffic reports.
