Movisat and Internet Television.

Movisat Networks is breaking new grounds by using software that provides the greatest possible reception and offers a viewing experience as clean, fluid and clear as watching a DVD on a plasma screen.
According to company’s executives, the service – which includes a free basic channel – is unique and surpasses any current Internet offerings of the traditional channels, which are merely “uploaded” portions of their programming onto their pages generally lacking in quality.
“What we do at Movisat is truly offer Internet television, via Internet. Television that can be seen and heard continuously without loss of quality,” said Movisat’s president, CEO and founder, Fabian Esteban.
“What separates us from a technological standpoint is our exclusive, internally designed software that allows us to filter and strengthen the signal to provide image and sound that is equal or superior to that of broadcast and cable television,” added Esteban. “So much that we will soon be transmitting in HD (high definition) via Internet.”
Any person – without having to install a special program and as easily as checking one’s e-mail – can view Movisat from anywhere in the world via a broadband Internet connection, a service becoming more available now that many cities such as Miami Beach plan to offer free, wireless Internet access.
Through the internet, “We can simultaneously be on the office computer of a Mexican executive in San Francisco, on the laptop of an Argentine businessman waiting for his flight at New York’s La Guardia Airport, and on the home device of a Venezuelan who lives in Miami,” Esteban said.
However, Esteban restated that the strengths of Movisat – which currently targets U.S. Hispanics also lays in the format and quality of its programming, which can be “custom” structured according to the needs and preferences of any user.
“For Hispanics, we are looking to inform them, give them back a piece of their country, connect them with the events, culture and idiosyncrasies only a native would understand, and at the same time, entertain them with style and respect,” said Argentine Claudio Giudice, vice president of programming.
Movisat’s programming includes brief and dynamic segments ranging from news coverage of all Latin American countries, financial programs, sports, weather, Latin rock, comedy, entertainment and cinema, all of which can be interrupted at any time in the event of a breaking news.
In addition to the technological and programming advantages, Movisat’s service allows for viewing that is uninterrupted by weather. Since Movisat’s signal is not transmitted via satellite, outages caused by storms, hurricanes and other natural phenomena do not affect the signal. On the other hand, the service guarantees the most “private relationship” that human beings can establish with any media. By being in front of their computer, it guarantees total attention, freeing viewers from distractions that occur when watching traditional television.
Since its beginnings in June, when Movisat provided minute-by-minute coverage of the World Cup with what customers described as stunning quality, the company has grown both in terms of experience and viewership.
“At any moment during the day, we have traffic between 35,000 and 40,000 people, who click to sign on and stay tuned to our channel,” said Giudice, who added that the company’s plans include the upcoming launch of three VIP channels at an “accessible” subscription rate.
