Telemundo delivers in September 2006.

As the September rating averages for the month come to a close, Telemundo delivers a 3% increase compared to last year’s performance (3.2 rtg. vs. 3.1 rtg). In addition, the network’s solid ratings delivery for the entire month of September gives Telemundo twelve consecutive months of year-to-year growth among Hispanics adults (A18-49) in the peak hours of weekday primetime.

“We are pleased with the steady increase in our ratings over the last twelve months,” said Don Browne, President, Telemundo. “The results confirm that our development, production, and programming strategy of creating relevant, original content continues to strengthen and make an impact with our viewing audience.”

In addition, Telemundo’s performance for the first two weeks of the 2006-2007 broadcast season posted a strong ratings performance during the highly coveted Monday through Friday primetime (M-F, 7-11PM) viewing hours for the key demographic of adults 18-49 (A18-49). Averaging a 3.2 rating / 679,000 among A18-49, Telemundo posted a 7% gain over the first two weeks of the 2005-06 season (633,000 A18-49 viewers), and garnered a 23% share of the audience watching Spanish-language broadcasters during weekday primetime.

Telemundo’s steady growth comes despite the declining performance experienced by other Spanish-language competitors, including Univision’s season-to-date weekday primetime performance for first two weeks of the current 2006-2007 season in comparison to the same time period last season.
