Morel – Sales Manager National Sales Telemundo Miami.

Telemundo announced the appointment of Julio Morel to the position of Sales Manager, Miami National Sales office, effective immediately. The announcement was made by Enrique Perez, Senior Vice President Sales, Telemundo Stations Group, to whom Morel will report.

“Julio has a genuine passion for the broadcast business industry,” said Perez. “His extensive market knowledge and attention to client needs are a huge value to our network and the TV station group.”

With more than 16 years of experience in the U.S. broadcast television market, Morel was most recently Account Executive at the Miami National Sales office, representing Telemundo and NBC stations across the country. He joined Telemundo in 2000 as Director of Program Research.

Morel began his career at Seltel Television and at Petry TV assisting the sales department. As a research analyst, he worked primarily on Fox affiliates and English-language television stations nationwide for both at Seltel and at Petry. Morel moved into Spanish-language television in 1992 when he joined Univision as Research Coordinator during the initial launch of the Nielsen’s National Hispanic Television Index service. In 1994, Morel was instrumental in launching the research department of newly acquired Owned and Operated Chicago station, WGBO. Morel relocated to Miami in 1996 as WLTV’s Director of Marketing & Research department, where he serviced management, sales and advertisers with information regarding the growing Hispanic market.

Morel recently completed Telemundo’s ACLP Sales management training program and currently resides with his wife and two children in Miramar, Florida.
