Telemundo opens headquarters in Mexico City.

Telemundo Network announced the inauguration of its new Telemundo Mexico headquarters in Mexico City, Mexico. The new offices are home to the network’s new state of the art News Bureau, which features the latest technological equipment and 24 hour connectivity to the U.S. and Latin America. In addition, the new headquarters will house offices for Telemundo’s entertainment division, as well as the finance and sales teams. The announcement was made by Telemundo President, Don Browne, at a press briefing in Mexico in celebration of the network’s milestone.

“Today is a very important day for Telemundo. It is not only one more step forward for our company, but also a very important milestone in the history of Telemundo in Mexico,” said Browne. “Our commitment to our audience goes hand in hand with our commitment to creating a stronger presence in Mexico and the new headquarters are a tangible proof that we’re here to stay.”

After having a presence in Mexico for about ten years, the network decided to open its new headquarters in Mexico City as part of its mission to develop, produce and market content that is relevant to the U.S. Hispanic audience, which is mostly of Mexican descent. Telemundo’s new offices in Mexico feature a new state of the art studio equipped with 24 hour /7 days-a-week connectivity to Telemundo’s Miami headquarters and is equipped to provide production support for network shows like “Al Rojo Vivo con María Celeste”, “Cotorreando”, “Network News”, “Sports” and, “Cada Día con María Antonieta”, among others. The News Bureau hosts the latest technology for news gathering such as, its own satellite downlink antennas, 6 Avid edit bays on a Lanshare system, all Digital video and audio transmissions, full redundant power with UPS protection, and generator backup among other amenities.
