Association of Puerto Rican Public Relations Professionals XVIII Annual Conference ‘Metamorphosis: I

On October 6 and 7, at the Embassy Suites Dorado del Mar Beach and Golf Resort, in Dorado, the Association of Puerto Rican Public Relations Professionals (ARPPR) will hold its XVIII conference under the banner ‘Metamorphosis: Impact and Perspectives’.

“The purpose of the annual ARPPR conference is to offer an educational forum for professionals in the public relations, communications or industry- related areas aimed at expanding their knowledge and understanding of industry trends,” said Raquel Rivera, ARPPR President-Elect and Director of the Conference Committee.

The educational sessions held on Friday, October 6, will include topics such as: Communication in Worker-Employer Conflicts; Public Relations as a Component of Organizational Change, among others. The lunch session will be headed by Jeffrey Ory, ABC, APR, of Deveney Communications, who will present the case for the recovery of the City of New Orleans during the presentation of Metamorphosis of a City: New Orleans after Katrina.

Among the conference speakers are Manny Ruiz, President of Hispanic PR Wire, and Rafi Acosta, Producer of World’s Best 10K, who will conduct a conference on managing the news media in international events. In addition, there will be a lecture on the impact of tax reform on public relations services by the Instituto de Politica Publica (Institute of Public Policy),
and another on the benefits of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) by Alfredo Espinosa, of the Instituto SAS.

The closing plenary session will address professional association membership of the public relations profession during a panel entitled Regulation: Impact and Perspectives, with participation from members of the Interamerican Confederation of Public Relations (CONFIARP), the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, and the ARPPR.

The Association of Puerto Rican Public Relations Professionals (ARPPR) is a non-profit organization founded in 1970, whose membership includes public relations professionals from the public and private sectors. Its main purpose is to promote the development of the profession, highest ethical standards, as well as to serve as a source of information for its members.
