Fox Sports en Español acquires rights to the Life of Ozzie Guillen.

Fox Sports en Español announced it has acquired the national broadcast rights to the landmark five-part series entitled “A mi manera” (“My Way”), which chronicles the life of Latino baseball icon and 2005 American League Manager of the Year Ozzie Guillen of the Chicago White Sox. Produced in Spanish with English subtitles, “A mi manera” will be presented in five half-hour episodes, starting with the first two episodes debuting back-to-back on Monday, September 25 at 11:00 p.m. ET/8:00 p.m. PT. Fox Sports en Español also announced the return of the MLB postseason to its airwaves, starting with exclusive Division Series coverage on Tuesday, October 3 at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT.

Showcasing Guillen’s family life and his years as a baseball player and manager, as well as his personal and challenging journey from his youth in Venezuela to today, each episode of “A mi manera” will take viewers inside the life of one of baseball’s most popular and respected personalities. Narrated in Spanish by Guillen’s son, Oney Guillen, “A mi manera” features interviews with some of the game’s biggest names, including Albert Pujols, Ivan Rodriguez, Johan Santana, Javy Lopez, Moises Alou, Omar Minaya, Jose Guillen, Miguel Cabrera, and Carlos Zambrano. The five-part series also includes interviews with players and coaches from his current White Sox roster, including Freddy Garcia, Jose Contreras, Pablo Ozuna, Sandy Alomar, Alex Cintron, and Joey Cora, as well as his wife Ibis and three children Ozzie Jr., Oney and Ozney.

The third and fourth episodes of “A mi manera” will air on Friday, September 29, starting at 11:00 p.m. ET/8:00 p.m. PT; while the fifth episode will air on Monday, October 2, at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT. “A mi manera,” presented by Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana Chevy Dealers and United Auto Insurance Group, originally premiered last month in Chicago on Comcast SportsNet.

“We are delighted to be able to bring this groundbreaking documentary to our viewers across the country,” said David Sternberg, executive vice president and general manager of Fox Sports en Español. “Ozzie Guillen’s inspirational story should appeal to baseball and Latino sports fans no matter where they live. It’s a wonderful example of the ‘American Dream’ in action, and a unique programming acquisition that provides the perfect lead-in for our exclusive coverage of the MLB post season during the coming weeks.”

For the sixth consecutive year, Fox Sports en Español will offer live and exclusive Spanish-language coverage of the Major League Baseball (MLB) postseason, including a selection of MLB Divisional Series games, the National and American League Championships, and the World Series.

Fox Sports en Español’s Jose Tolentino and Luis Rodriguez Hill provide in-studio commentary and analysis, while play-by-play responsibilities will be shared by Pepe Mantilla and Francisco Rivera. Additional broadcasters may be added to Fox Sports en Español’s MLB postseason coverage as needed.
