Lápiz launches Punta.

Lápiz announced the launch of a new magazine – Punta. In Spanish, it means point, or the tip of the pencil. Punta is as a channel of expression for Lápiz employees, guest artists and friends of the agency. It contains photo essays, stories, interviews and exclusive contributions from artists worldwide.

“Since this is a world cup year, we chose as our first theme the Latin passion for ‘fútbol.’ We hope that Punta conveys the creativity and excitement we feel for our national passion,” said Dolores Kunda, President and CEO of Lápiz.

According to Laurence Klinger, SVP and Chief Creative Officer of Lápiz, “photography, art, and writing are a big part of what to do here at the agency. Therefore, creating a magazine seemed like a natural extension of our work.”

Punta hopes to experiment with ideas outside of the classic advertising format. Instead the magazine invites creative individuals to come and play, exploring Hispanic culture in America.

Punta hopes to reach out to a broad creative audience, including students of advertising, communications, and design, as well as advertisers and agency professionals.

Individuals may subscribe to Punta for distribution at www.lapizusa.com or www.puntamag.com
