mun2 announced that it has successfully wrapped taping three episodes of the network’s popular program “2RSLVJ” (Tú eres El VJ/You Are the VJ) with mega stars, Beyoncé, Maná and Paulina Rubio. Each star will serve as a guest host for separate episodes of the mun2 original program where they select their favorite videos and chat about why they chose them.
Beyoncé, Maná and Paulina will each serve as honorary mun2 VJ’s for upcoming “2RSLVJ” episodes, taking over the airwaves with their favorite artists and videos while sharing personal anecdotes and giving fans the latest on their own projects. Separately shot episodes with Beyoncé and Paulina will air as a one-hour special on September 17th at 6PM. Latin rock sensation Maná will host “2RSLVJ” on September 3rd at 6PM.
“Having artists with such enormous appeal like Beyoncé, Maná, and Paulina on the show really speaks to the quality of work we’re doing and the talent we’re drawing to mun2 right now,” said Alex Pels, general manager, mun2. “These artists represent the best of both Latin and mainstream and we’re thrilled that mun2 was one of the few selected outlets to have access to them—it validates that the bicultural space is one that the biggest artists today want to be a part of.”
mun2 was one of a select group of outlets hand-picked to shoot with Beyoncé during a recent stop in L.A. for the star. In “2RSLVJ,” the megastar gives viewers and fans insight into her own musical preferences, kicking off her video choices with Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie. Beyoncé is an internationally-renowned and award-winning singer, songwriter, record producer, actress, and fashion designer.
Also making their debut as guests on “2RSLVJ” in September is mega-band Maná. With over 22 millions albums worldwide, 5 Grammy Awards and 9 Billboard Awards, Maná is a musical icon and one of Mexico’s most influential rock bands ever. As part of a month-long promotional campaign entitled “Maná goes mun2,” the band hosts a “2RSLVJ” on September 3 at 6PM where they share their favorite videos and personal anecdotes such as how the music industry has affected their private and professional lives.
Rounding out the group of upcoming “2RSLVJ” superstars is Latin sensation Paulina Rubio, who is one of the most successful cross-over acts in the U.S. with sales exceeding 15 million albums worldwide. While serving as guest host for the program, Paulina gives viewers the inside scoop on her upcoming album titled “Ananda” and reveals some of her favorite music videos, including her own Si Tú Te Vas and Nelly Furtado’s I’m Like a Bird.
