Las Chivas de Guadalajara scores for Navidad en el Barrio.

For each goal the Chivas de Guadalajara scored against FC Barcelona on Aug. 6 at the LA Coliseum, Coors Light donated $5,000.00 to the local charity, Navidad en el Barrio.

“We’re celebrating the Chivas’ 100-year anniversary by giving back to the Hispanic community,” said Paul Mendieta, director of Hispanic marketing for Coors Brewing Company. “Navidad en el Barrio brightens the holidays for families in need and we’re thrilled to be a part of such a worthy cause.”

The funds will help Navidad en el Barrio continue a 34-year tradition of providing food to underserved families from Santa Maria to San Diego, over the winter holiday season.

“Coors Light is a long-term partner of ours,” said John Olvera, president of Navidad en el Barrio. “Last year we fed 30,000 families throughout California. This year, we’re focusing on enhancing the nutritional content of the baskets since heart disease and diabetes are on the rise.”
