KMEX-TV tops in July.

With one day left before the end of the July 2006 sweeps period, Univision’s flagship station KMEX-TV Channel 34 continues to rank as the highest rated station in Los Angeles, regardless of language, for all key Adult demographics 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, according to the Nielsen Station Index (NSI). KMEX-TV delivered solid demographic ratings in virtually every key daypart, including the very competitive hours of Daytime, Early Fringe and Primetime. Demographic ratings highlights for the July 2006 NSI survey (June 29 to July 25, 2006) include the following:

” KMEX-TV ranks number one in Primetime for all key Adult demographics, averaging ratings well above the competing English-language stations, which include network affiliates KTTV (FOX), KNBC-TV (NBC), KABC-TV (ABC), KTLA-TV (WB), KCBS-TV (CBS), KCOP-TV (UPN) and KCAL-TV (IND). KMEX-TV’s sister station, KFTR-TV, an affiliate of the TeleFutura Network, also delivered ratings comparable to several of L.A.’s English-language stations.

” The July 2006 sweeps ratings period marks the tenth consecutive sweeps where KMEX-TV has ranked as L.A.’s top rated station in average Primetime ratings for all key Adult demographics. KMEX-TV also ranked first in May 2006, February 2006, November 2005, July 2005, May 2005, February 2005, November 2004, July 2004 and May 2004.

” KMEX-TV aired all of the top thirteen programs in Primetime among Adults 18-49 during sweeps, shutting-out every English-language station in the market.

” The 11pm weekday edition of “Noticias 34″ is the highest rated late newscast in Los Angeles among the key Adult demographics 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, averaging higher ratings than its English-language competition on KABC-TV, KCBS-TV, KNBC-TV, as well as the 10pm newscasts on KTTV, KTLA-TV, KCOP-TV and KCAL-TV

” KMEX-TV’s World Cup final match between Italy and France was among the top ten highest rated sporting events of the year among key Adult and Male demos. In the Adult 18-49 demographic, it ranked number eight for the year and beat out the average ratings of the 2005 NBA Finals on KABC-TV and the 2005 Major League Baseball World Series in KTTV-TV.

” KMEX-TV’s broadcast of “Premios Juventud” (Youth Awards) ranked among the top five rated specials of the year across select key demos. The award program’s highest demo ratings were among Men 18-34, Adults 18-34 and Women 18-34 where it ranked #2, #3 and #4 respectively for the year, in the company of KABC-TV’s “Academy Awards”, KCBS-TV’s “GRAMMY Awards” and KNBC-TV’s “Golden Globe Awards.”

” KMEX-TV posted strong ratings around the clock, ranking first in “24-hour” average ratings (Monday to Sunday 3am to 3am) for all key Adult demographics, 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

” KMEX-TV ranked number one during the 6pm to 7pm weekday news hour, with both of its local newscasts, “Noticias 34” (News 34) and network news, “Noticiero Univision” (Univision News) delivering higher ratings among all key demographics (Adults 18-34, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54) than their English-language competitors. “Noticias 34″ has ranked first at 6pm among Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49 in every Nielsen sweeps for 50 consecutive sweeps (since May 1994).

” In the prime access time period (Monday-Friday, 7pm to 8pm), KMEX-TV’s newest novela “Heridas- de Amor,” (The Wounds of Love) averaged much higher ratings among all key Adult demographics than every English-language program in the market in that time period, including “The Simpsons” (KTTV), “Everybody Loves Raymond” (KTLA-TV), “Access Hollywood” (KNBC-TV), “Jeopardy” (KABC-TV), among others.

” KMEX-TV continues to rank as the highest rated station in Early Fringe among all key Adult demographics. KMEX-TV’s popular line-up starting with “Rebelde” (Rebel) from 3pm to 4pm, and continues with “El Gordo y Flaca” (The Scoop and the Skinny) from 4pm to 5pm, and “Primer Impacto” (First Impact) 5pm to 6pm considerably outperforms all English-language competition on KABC, KNBC, KCBS and others in the time period among Adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.
