mun2 covers 7th annual New York International Latino Film Festival.

mun2 announced its sponsorship and coverage of the 7th annual New York International Latino Film Festival (NYILFF) which will be held the week of July 25-30th at various New York City locations. mun2 will present the festival’s New Music Showcase, for which the network teamed up with Arista Records to bring their newest pop sensation, Paula Deanda, to the stage on the evening of July 29th.

“mun2 is fully committed to supporting and providing a platform of creative expression among the Latino community,” said Alex Pels, General Manager, mun2. “Sponsoring the New York International Latino Film Festival is a great fit for us since the event speaks to the core of what we seek to do at mun2.”

mun2 shares in the festival’s mission of promoting the arts and celebrating the diversity and spirit of the Latino community. Every year the NYILFF showcases the works of the hottest emerging Latino filmmaking talent from the U.S. and Latin America and highlights the full range of Latino culture.

On July 29th, mun2’s very own “18 & Over” VJ, Ellie, will host the festival’s New Music Showcase, sponsored by mun2, with a live performance by Deanda who will sing her new hit single “Doing Too Much.” Also providing star power will be Emily Rios, the star of the much-talked-about, award-winning feature film “Quineañera.”

Coverage of the NYLIFF New Music Showcase event will air on mun2 August 11, 2006. The special “18 & Over” broadcast will include footage of Paula’s performance, behind-the-scenes footage of the festival, celebrity interviews, and action from the red carpet for the premieres of “Quineañera” and “Yellow.”
