Telemundo begins production of ‘La Viuda de Blanco’.

Telemundo announced it has begun production of its upcoming novela, “La Viuda de Blanco” (Blanco’s Widow). Starring Itati Cantoral, Francisco Gattorno, Zharick Leon and Alejandro Felipe, “La Viuda de Blanco”, is another hit-story written by renowned author Julio Jimenez (El Cuerpo del Deseo, Pasion de Gavilanes) scheduled to launch at the end of the summer.

“We are thrilled about this new project,” said Patricio Wills, President, Telemundo-RTI and Head of Production, Telemundo Studios. “‘La Viuda de Blanco’ is another great novela that, in true Julio Jimenez style, uses mystery and the supernatural to tell a wonderful love story.”

“La Viuda de Blanco” is set against the backdrop of a small fishing village ruled by mystery and intrigue. The novela tells the story of Alicia (Cantoral), a woman who is unfairly convicted of a crime she did not commit. Once out of jail, she returns to recover the treasure that was once taken away from her: her twin boys (Alejandro Felipe). While she fights to clear her name and reclaim what is rightfully hers, Alicia will find love in Sebastian (Gattorno); but secrets from the past will make their love impossible.

Telemundo has used the city of Key West, Florida as its inspiration to recreate the setting of the small fishing village of “Trinidad” and will tape various scenes from the novela around the Miami River area. 40 technicians make up the exteriors production crew while approximately 45 work in studio production. Aside from Telemundo Studios, the production is using two beautiful mansions in Davie and one in Homestead, Florida for exterior shots that give life to the homes of some of the novela’s main characters.

“La Viuda de Blanco’s” stellar cast includes stars Zully Montero, Oswaldo Rios, Lilibeth Morillo, and Jeanette Lehr, among others. The novela is directed by Luis Manzo (Tierra de Pasiones). Its General Producer is Alicia Avila. Executive Producer and Creative Director, Aurelio Valcarcel.
