Telemundo Puerto Rico on DishLATINO.

Telemundo Puerto Rico, NBC Universal Cable’s latest Spanish-language cable network, announced that Telemundo Puerto Rico is now available on EchoStar Communication Corporation’s DISH Network to its DishLATINO subscribers in the U.S. The announcement was made today by David Zaslav, president, NBC Universal Cable and Domestic TV and New Media Distribution, and Antoinette Zel, senior executive vice president, Network Strategy, Telemundo.

Telemundo Puerto Rico offers more than 30 hours per week of news broadcast directly from the WKAQ-TV, the preferred network on the island which includes “Telenoticias AM,” an informative yet entertaining morning newscast, and “Telenoticias,” which consists of three daily editions to keep viewers informed with up-to-the-minute news as they happen on the island.

“We are thrilled to have EchoStar launch Telemundo Puerto Rico, where we can have a larger footprint in serving the rapidly growing Latino community with unique programming catered to them and their interests,” commented Zaslav.

“Telemundo Puerto Rico is one of the most popular networks in Puerto Rico,” said Eric Sahl, senior vice president of Programming for DISH Network. “Telemundo Puerto Rico complements DISH Network’s expansive lineup of programming for Latinos and brings top quality programming to the underserved Puerto Rican audience in the United States.”

“Telemundo Puerto Rico’s debut on EchoStar is terrific news not only for Puerto Ricans but for Hispanics in the U.S. who will be able to stay connected to relevant news and programming that speaks directly to them and their culture,“ said Zel. “We couldn’t be more excited about this launch and hope the channel continues to grow and reach more of its audience.”
