Spanish Broadcasting System Loses Talented D.J.

This past weekend we received with great grief and sadness, news that our friend and colleague Julio Nivar Jr. tragically lost his life.

Julio Nivar Jr., was born in Far Rockway, New York on January 5, 1977. Julio’s career in radio began in 1994 working with the Research and Promotions Department at WXDJ-FM El Zol 95. Later that same year he moved on the airwaves as a disc jockey and radio announcer for El Zol 95. Throughout his radio career he also made several appearances in local music television channels. Most recently, he was hosting his own show during the 7pm to midnight shift on El Zol 95.

Julio leaves behind 2 small children Rafael Antonio and Julian Antonio. We will remember Julio as a cheerful young man, who always wore a smile for everyone accompanied by a warm greeting. Julio was known for his joyful and positive attitude which earned him the nickname “El Hombre Gozadera”.

His voice will stay in our hearts forever, and we are sure that his listeners will remember him as a great professional in the radio industry and more importantly a wonderful human being.
