‘Day In Day Out’ special with Kumbia Kings @ mun2.
March 20, 2006
mun2 will present a “Day In Day Out” special with Latin Pop Group Kumbia Kings. The show reveals exclusive “life on tour” footage as the group’s members prepared for a mega concert at Monterrey’s Arena in Mexico, and offer all the behind-the-scenes activities surrounding the event. “Day In Day Out” with Kumbia Kings airs Saturday, April 22 at 10PM on mun2.
Viewers will follow Kumbia Kings in preparation of one of the most important concerts of their career, back at the same place where they recorded their LIVE album last year, Monterrey, Mexico. Fans will see the band’s members Cruz, Pee Wee, Abel, Nando, Pangie, and dancers Nino B and JP, as they prepare, play and interact with each other before the big day, and they’ll enjoy special interviews in which the members speak about their amazing eight-year musical career. Kumbia King’s first live album “Kumbia Kings Live!,” which was released last April 4th, has sold over 250 thousand copies so far and has been five weeks in the Top Ten with the single “Pachuco”.
“Day In Day Out” will feature images of the group’s electrifying performance that included a state of the art audio and lighting production, special effects, fireworks and a revolving stage, the first of its kind at this particular arena. People of all ages gathered to sing along with the Kumbia Kings, as the group took them through a special journey of their biggest hits including the recent “Pachuco,”, as well as “Sabes a Chocolate,” “No Tengo Dinero,” “Fuego,” “Baila Esta Cumbia,“ “Na, na, na (Mi dulce niña),” and many more.
Viewers will also see special footage of the press conference held by Cruz Martinez, co-founder and manager of the group, explaining the absense in the concert of Executive Producer and Bassist A.B. Quintanilla. According to Cruz, A.B. will continue as executive producer without participating in concerts. Despite this surprising announcement, the show went on, and for the second consecutive year, Texas-based Latin pop group Kumbia Kings, beat audience records at the venue, gathering 17,000 people during the April 1st concert, a testament to their growing popularity.
Kumbia Kings will also star as special guests on mun2 “2RSLVJ”, the show that gives artists control of the airwaves, allowing them to create their own one-hour show. Kumbia Kings will take the VJ hot seat and give viewers a one-hour dose of their favorite clips and videos, along with up-close and personal anecdotes. “2RSLVJ” featuring Kumbia Kings will air Saturday April 22 at 1:30 PM
