La Costeña Feel the Heat Jalapeño Eating Challenge Tour.

In celebration of Mexican culture, food, family and tradition, La Costeña is launching a national mobile tour, which promises to heat up the summer. The La Costeña Feel The Heat Jalapeño Eating Challenge Tour is scheduled to visit the country’s largest Hispanic community events. Families are invited to enjoy Mexican food favorites, while helping raise needed awareness for their community food banks. The 17-week tour launches in Phoenix on April 10th, challenging jalapeño lovers to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most jalapeños eaten within one minute, which currently stands at 15 jalapeños. The tour will visit eight major cities, and one finalist from each city will receive an opportunity to compete in Chicago’s final fiery challenge for the Guinness World Record(TM) title and the chance to win cash prizes.

La Costeña Feel The Heat Jalapeño Eating Challenge Tour will showcase the warmth and festive spirit of the Mexican culture through family-oriented activities featured at each participating venue. Additionally, for every jalapeño eaten during the tour, La Costeña will donate product to local food banks and hunger relief agencies. This initiative will encourage local residents to participate and attempt to break the Guinness World Record(TM), as they contribute to a good cause. “La Costeña is very excited to be part of this initiative of giving back to local charity organizations, while offering consumers the opportunity to experience the authenticity of our products in a distinctive way” said Johanna Lugo, Marketing Manager of La Costeña.

The tour will also offer food aficionados the opportunity to experience La Costeña’s authentic Mexican cuisine through on-site cooking demonstrations. Utilizing the 31-foot long and 10-foot high state-of-the-art mobile kitchen, La Costeña’s Chefs will be sharing their expertise on traditional Mexican recipes, as well as helpful tips for daily meal preparation. The La Costeña Feel The Heat Jalapeño Eating Challenge Tour intends to demonstrate the common characteristics between La Costeña products and the recipes to be featured during the tour, convenience, easy preparation and great authentic taste.
