mun2 kicks off April with ‘Vivo’ special.

mun2 announced that it will kick off April with a star-studded special of its new flagship show, “Vivo.” In addition, the network announces that KNBC-TV, the flagship station for NBC in L.A., has signed on to rebroadcast “Vivo” on a weekly basis as of April 16, further extending mun2’s presence in the all-important Los Angeles market.
The celebratory April 11th episode will feature an all-star line-up of acts including Calle 13, one of the year’s hottest reggaeton groups, and Grammy and Oscar-winning Gustavo Santaolalla, one of the early, key figures in Argentine rock and a pioneer in rock en Español. Santaolalla has signed and produced acts such as Juanes and has introduced the Latin rock genre to new audiences with his scores for films which include “21 Grams,” “The Motorcycle Diaries,” and “Brokeback Mountain,” for which he received an Oscar for Best Score.
“’Vivo’ is becoming the entertainment source for today’s most popular music, celebrities, film and fashion that reflect the style and trends of young U.S. Latinos,” said Alex Pels, General Manager, mun2. “We’re thrilled about KNBC-TV’s decision to carry the show and look forward to strengthening our presence in the L.A. market.”

“Vivo’s” debut last month is the latest tangible demonstration of the network’s new programming strategy and its commitment to providing unique, originally-produced and quality-driven programming with proven genres endorsed by bilingual young Latinos.
“Vivo” airs Tuesday and Thursday at 9PM ET/PT on mun2 and will air at 2AM ET/PT on Sundays on KNBC-TV. The one-hour show is an originally-produced music variety series taped in front of a live-studio audience in Los Angeles. “Vivo” features in-studio performances and special guest appearances that appeal to both the general and Hispanic market audience, as well as surprise walk-on interviews and studio call-ins with a variety of popular personalities. The innovative show follows a fast-paced formula that highlights the most popular music, celebrity and entertainment trends.
The show is hosted by industry up-and-comers Yasmin Deliz and Renato Lopez. Deliz is a multifaceted model and singer and Lopez is a musician and actor whose credits include various television commercials and a role in the MTV show “Undressed.”
