AIM TV creates interactive community for Latinos.

AIM Tell-A-Vision Group and 2waytraffic have announced plans to involve viewers directly in AIM TV’s hit shows American Latino TV and LatiNation. Viewers of the shows will be prompted to participate in polls, trivia and send in their opinions about topics addressed in the shows by sending in text messages from their mobile phones. Poll results and viewer comments will then be displayed on-line at www.latination.tv/mobile and www.americanlatino.tv/mobile. LatiNation is a weekly, nationally syndicated magazine show that showcases the generation of Latino youth living in the U.S. today and American Latino TV is a nationally syndicated, half-hour program that celebrates the growing American Latino movement in the United States. Both formats reach approximately 1.2 million viewers per episode in over 65 million households.

Viewers will answer questions and express themselves by sending text messages to the premium number ”76666” to participate. A fee of $0.99 will be billed to their mobile phone each time they participate. All poll results and viewer comments are compiled and then presented on the show websites, where viewers can go and continue discussing the topics on-line.

“We are always looking for new ways to connect with our viewers and share the Latino experience with them,” said Renzo Devia, President of AIM Tell-A-Vision Group’s Maximas Productions. “Giving our viewers a voice in our programming makes the topics instantly more personal and relevant to them in what it means to be an American Latino.”

The first interactive episodes of LatiNation will air later this month, followed by plans for American Latino TV early this summer.
