Palm Beach International Film Festival.

The Palm Beach International Film Festival, held April 20-28, 2006, will present several movies of interest to South Florida’s Latin American community. Each of these films range in Latin influence from the island of Cuba to Spain and Puerto Rico.

Sacred Waters: World Premiere–(USA, 2005)
Through powerful narrative, this documentary tracks the Cuban exiles plight and their journey through the last 47 years. Told firsthand by many Cubans including celebrities who share personal moving experiences such as Gloria Estefan, Steven Bauer, Andy Garcia and more

Love & Suicide: Florida Premiere–(Cuba, 2005)
A man discovers the one thing between love and suicide in Cuba. TOMAS (Kamar De Le Reyes) is living in a vicious circle of life and death. He has all the success and awards a man should want. Living a high-rise New York City life style, everyone would love to achieve. But he cannot have it all. Some desires, money cannot buy. No matter how much he tries. Tomas cannot have his long lost love. In a frantic moment before killing himself, Tomas goes to Cuba and discovers the “one thing” between love and suicide; taught by Cuban cab driver, Alberto.

Ladrones y Mentirosos (Thieves and Liars): (Puerto Rico, 2005) The heartrending story of three Puerto Rican families struggling to stay together in a society overcome by corruption and drugs. Using a parallel structure, the film focuses on the three generations that comprise each family: teenagers, their parents and their grandparents.
