Azteca America presented the launch of its battle of the La Academia stars competition “Desafío de Estrellas,” featuring some of the most popular past La Academia contestants, including Erasmo, Yuridia, Carlos and Adrián, as well as non -La Academia hopefuls like Joel José, son of the famed entertainer José José; and Alejandra Ley, from the hit novela Los Sánchez.
The show will debut on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 5 pm PST / 1 PM EST and 12 PM CST. Desafío will serve as a weekend prelude to the Sunday concerts of La Academia USA, at 7 PM / 6 PM CST. With concert number 12 this week, the La Academia USA competition is hotter than ever, following the disappointing exit last week of Diana, considered by many to be one of the most talented voices on the show.
As La Academia USA comes into the month of its Gran Final, still in the running are Frankie, from Dubuque, Iowa; Afid, from Houston, Yoshigei, from South Gate, CA; Nohelia, from Miami; Adán, from Chicago; Mariana, from El Paso; Gustavo, from Santa Ana, CA; Jazmín, from Salt Lake City; and Iván, from Phoenix.
