December 6, 2005
KZMP-FM, owned and operated by Entravision Radio, a division of Entravision Communications Corporation, announced the launch of “La Tricolor 104.9,” featuring a broad scope of regional Mexican music. Formerly “El Gato,” 104.9 KZMP-FM will begin airing the latest Duranguense, Banda and Norteña hits from the most popular regional Mexican artists, including K-Paz de la Sierra, Sergio Vega, Los Horoscopos de Durango and Ramon Ayala. “La Tricolor 104.9” will simulcast on Entravision Radio’s KZMP 1540 AM, which also serves the Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas market.
“La Tricolor 104.9” appeals to adults 18-44 who identify with regional Mexican cultures, an ethnicity that encompasses a vast majority of the Dallas/Ft. Worth-based Hispanic population.
“As a leading Spanish-language broadcaster in the nation’s fifth largest Hispanic market, our primary goal is to provide listeners a range of music choices that best meets their unique tastes,” said Scott Savage, General Manager of Entravision’s Dallas/Ft. Worth radio cluster. “‘La Tricolor 104.9’ is an excellent complement to Entravision Radio’s two other Dallas/Ft. Worth radio formats and enables us to offer advertisers a broad opportunity to reach various demographics within the rapidly growing Hispanic community.”
