Bustos Media, LLC (“Bustos”) announced it has entered into an agreement to purchase plus a Local Marketing Agreement (LMA) with Superior Broadcasting of Denver, LLC (“Superior”) for KKCS 101.9 FM.
Financial details of the arrangement were not disclosed, but Bustos began broadcasting today its flagship Regional Mexican format “La Gran D” on KKCS. The station is licensed to Colorado Springs but has good coverage stretching from Pueblo to the south and Longmont to the north. The station’s call letters will also change to KGDQ upon FCC approval.
Amador S. Bustos, President and CEO of Bustos Media, said “Denver is a dream market for us. We are elated to be able to serve the 15th largest and one of the fastest growing Hispanic market in this wonderful metropolitan area. Our entrance into Colorado is a natural eastward expansion for our company which has radio clusters in California, Wisconsin, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Utah.”
Chris Devine, President and CEO of Superior commented, “We are pleased to do another transaction with Bustos. Last year we sold them two of their Salt Lake City stations. They have done well in that market and I am confident they will also do well in Denver.”
