Bonkowski – Media Director @ Tapestry.

Dana Bonkowski has been promoted to Media Director at Tapestry, a multicultural media agency and division of Starcom MediaVest Group. Her current clients include Kellogg, Hennessy, Hanes, Chuck E. Cheese, Levi’s and Applebee’s. In her new position at Tapestry, Dana assumes new client responsbilities for Americatel, Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. She has been with Tapestry since 2001.

A veteran media expert, Dana Bonkowski has been part of the Starcom MediaVest Group family for nearly 10 years. She began her career within the General Market, creating strategic contact plans for brands such as Minute Maid, Pillsbury and Hallmark. Her team won a coveted North Star Award in 1999 for their launch of the Mahogany Certainly, Lord! card line, a brand extension targeted to spiritually-mindful African American women.

Dana’s knack for tapping into multicultural insights led her to join Tapestry in 2001, and contributed significantly to the growth of SMG’s newly-branded multicultural communications arm. Within Tapestry, Dana’s expertise lies primarily within the Hispanic space where she is charged with developing culturally relevant communication plans for a wide variety of clients including Kellogg, Hennessy, Hanes, Chuck E. Cheese, Levi’s and Applebee’s.

Her team has won the 2002 HispanicAd.com & AHAA award for Best Plan Under $1MM for their insightful and imaginative contact plan for Toys R Us’ Three Kings holiday effort. 2003 brought an even more rewarding year, where her team brought home two HispanicAd.com & AHAA awards for Best Plan Under $1MM and Best Use of OOH. In 2004, her team was again recognized for their breakthrough approach to contact planning when Hennessy’s Urban Hispanic Contact plan was named runner up for Most Creative Multicultural Media plan at Media Magazine’s Creative Media Awards. 2004 also marked the year when the Hispanic Special K plan took home a Silver Effie.
