The San Diego Press Club 2005 in its 32nd annual award ceremony, acknowledged reporters from local newspaper Diario Latino with two prestigious awards: reporter Nelly Cervantes with 2nd place in the General News category, Edgar Morales received a Honorary Mention for his series about civilians watching (the Minuteman) the California and Mexico Border, and the editorial and design teams also received special recognitions for their work”, announced Jose Santiago Healy, President and Publisher of Diario Latino.
“When we started on October 20th, 2003 our main goal was to deliver a high quality daily newspaper. It’s amazing we are succeeding at this objective, with the work of a well experienced and professional staff”, quoted Jose S. Healy, former publisher of El Imparcial of Hermosillo, Mexico, for 20 years and founder of Tijuana’s Frontera and La Cronica of Mexicali.
