NBC & Telemundo To Televise Miami Boat Parade Special.

NBC6 and Telemundo 51 in Miami have teamed up as the exclusive television partners for the Miami International Boat Parade. The inaugural Parade will showcase Miami’s natural beauty and the beauty of its diverse population. The parade will take place live on December 10 along Miami’s beautiful coastline. The route takes the holiday decorated and lighted sailboats, powerboats, and mega-yachts past downtown Miami, Bayfront Park, the American Airlines Arena, down the Cruiseship channel and many other Miami waterfront landmarks. The parade culminates with a gigantic fireworks display just off of Downtown Miami’s coast. “Having a world-class parade in this world-class city is a natural match,” says City of Miami Mayor Manny Diaz.

Bayfront Park will be the headquarters for all land-based events including activities, food, and refreshments for the entire family. Events such as “Snow Mountain,” the “Family Fun Zone” and the “World Showcase” will entertain and enrich visitors. Bayfront Park will offer spectators the best opportunity to view the parade and the fireworks. Entry into the park is free for everyone.

NBC6 and Telemundo 51 will air commercials, promotional spots, live cut-ins during the parade, and each station will broadcast a portion of their evening news from the parade grounds in Bayfront Park. In addition, the stations will be taping, producing, and airing a half-hour special which will air later in December on both stations. NBC6 will air the English version while Telemundo 51 will air the Spanish version.

“We are very excited about the partnership,” explains James Perry, Boat Parade partner. “This will help showcase Miami’s beauty to hundreds of thousands of viewers.”
