Carl Vogel, EchoStar Communications Corporation’s vice chairman, has been named to the Board of Directors of Sí TV announced Jeff Valdez, Sí TV’s chairman and co-founder.

“We are pleased to welcome Carl to the Sí TV Board of Directors, and look forward to his contributions,” says Michael Schwimmer, Sí TV’s CEO. “Carl’s perspective, talents and working knowledge of both the cable and satellite businesses will add tremendous value to our leadership team.”

Vogel is currently the Vice Chairman at EchoStar. Prior to serving as Vice Chairman at EchoStar, Vogel served four years as the president and chief executive officer of Charter Communications Inc., a Fortune 500 company providing cable television and broadband services to approximately six million customers. Between 1997 and 2001, Vogel held various senior executive positions in companies affiliated with Liberty Media Corporation. He was also chairman and chief executive officer of Primestar and chief executive officer of Star Choice. Before his appointment as Vice Chairman in 2005, Vogel was an executive officer for EchoStar from 1994 to 1997 and president of DISH Network. He was a key member of the executive team that created and launched DISH Network in 1996.
