Molotov Host Of 2005 MTV Video Music Awards Latin America.

MTV Latin America announced that Mexican rock band Molotov will host the 2005 “MTV Video Music Awards Latin America”. This marks the first time that a band will host the “MTV Video Music Awards Latin America”. This year’s event will feature performances by punk-pop ensemble My Chemical Romance, Jamaican hip-hopper Sean Paul and Argentine rockers Babasónicos in addition to previously announced performances by Shakira, Foo Fighters, Good Charlotte and Simple Plan.

The 2005 MTV VMALAs will take place on Thursday, October 20, 2005 at the Great Tlachco Theater in Xcaret, located in Playa del Carmen in the Mexican Caribbean. The event will air on MTV Latin America to more than 24 countries and will be seen in Mexico at 10PM, and in Argentina and Chile at 11PM. The VMALAs will also be seen on MTV channels around the world, including MTV, MTV2, MTV Puerto Rico and MTV Español in the US, reaching 80 million households; as well as on MTVs in Europe, Asia, Canada and Australia, reaching a potential 418 million households in 164 territories worldwide. The show will also be carried on various broadcast stations throughout Latin America.
