Kare Donates $100K ¡DIGAME! Calling Cards To Katrina Refugees.
August 12, 2005
Kare Distribution (Kare), a nation-wide distributor of prepaid calling cards, announced that it will donate over $100,000 of its ¡DIGAME! products to relief victims from Hurricane Katrina to enable the victims to make thousands of hours of prepaid international and domestic calls to friends and family in the US, Mexico and around the world.
The donation is being coordinated closely with officials from the Mexican Consulates in the affected and outlying areas to provide Mexican nationals and the almost 100,000 Mexican workers displaced by Hurricane Katrina with the means to call family and friends in Mexico, the US and around the world. ¡DIGAME! phonecards are readily available to make local, long distance and international calls and are being distributed to all individuals seeking a way to call family, friends and loved ones.
“As with many people across the United States, we believe it is our duty and responsibility to provide some measure of assistance to those affected by this devastation and to provide them with some opportunity to connect with loved ones here and abroad,” said Rob Paladino, VP of Sales for of Kare Distribution. “We appreciate the importance of communicating with loved ones and hope that our contribution of ¡DIGAME! will provide some relief to some of the tens of thousands of Latinos and non-Latinos affected by Katrina.”
In addition to the donation of 20,000 $5 ¡DIGAME! phonecards, Kare has committed an additional $20,000 in clothing to aid the victims seeking refuge from the hurricane in Houston, Dallas and Atlanta.
