GM Leadership Changes In Minority Dealer Development Program.

General Motors announced management changes in its Minority Dealer Development program. Effective Sept. 1, Dawin Wright assumes the position of executive director of Dealer Development and Alma Crossley moves into the role of director of Minority Dealer Development.

Wright is responsible for Minority Dealer Development and the Women’s Retail Initiative, which work toward increasing the number of minority and women-owned dealerships respectively. GM was the first automaker to create a formal minority dealer program in 1972 and is the only manufacturer to have a structured women’s dealer program.

Wright takes over for George Doss III, who was named Cadillac-HUMMER marketing manager for GM’s Western region. Prior to the Dealer Development appointment, Wright, who began his GM career at Chevrolet in 1976, was the director of Dealer Integration. He has had several sales and service assignments at Chevrolet and within GM Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing.
