CNN’s Spanish Language Network Hits Subscriber Mark.

CNN en Español has reached the 3 million subscriber mark in the United States, it was announced today by Coleman Breland, executive vice president, sales and marketing, Turner Network Sales.

Through distribution deals with major MSOs, CNN en Español is available to 75 percent of its universe in 49 of the top 50 Hispanic markets in the U.S., including Los Angeles, Calif.; New York, N.Y.; Miami, Fl.; and Chicago, Il. In addition, the network is available to viewers across the country through distribution agreements with direct-to-broadcast satellite companies.

“There is a growing need in the U.S. to serve the Hispanic viewer,” said Breland. “CNN en Español’s programming provides affiliate partners with the only global news network that speaks directly to their Hispanic subscribers and fills their need for global and national news in their language.”

“Reaching this key milestone is a reflection of the explosive growth and importance of the Latino population in this country, and Latinos’ desire for relevant news programming in their language,” said Christopher Crommett, senior vice president, CNN en Español.
