‘El Príncipe Azul’ Delivers High-rated Premier.

“El Príncipe Azul” (M-F, 10pm ET/PT), Telemundo’s latest reality show, premiered yesterday, August 8, 2005 to high ratings in the much-coveted demo of adults 18-49 (A18-49). Averaging a 3.2 rating in A18-49, the show increased the M-F 10-11PM time period delivery by 28% compared to prior week, 39% vs. prior month and 19% vs. prior year; doubling the premiere of “Decisiones”, the program previously airing in the time period. Also, the premiere of “El Príncipe Azul” was the second-highest rated premiere among all reality programs for the network, regardless of time period.

“El Príncipe Azul” highlights Mexican actor Leonardo García, as he searches for the girl of his dreams among a group of 20 women that will do almost anything, including the impossible, to win his heart. But the girls will not only have to be approved his father, the legendary actor Andrés García, but by other members of the family as well, who will take part in each step of the elimination process, adding more suspense and excitement to this real-life competition. Along with his father, Leonardo is also be accompanied by his grandmother Paquita García, his mother from Texas, Sandra Vale, and his aunt Rosa María García, all of whom will be part of the selection process.
