Sav-on Drugs 60th Anniversary Of Service To Southern California Customers.

Sav-on Drugs is commemorating 60 years of service to Southern California communities. To commemorate its 60th Anniversary year and to thank customers for making Sav-on Drugs the #1 drug store in Southern California, Sav-on and its associates have pledged to donate $60,000 and 60,000 volunteer hours to non-profit organizations in the communities it serves.

Since opening its first store in San Bernardino during 1945, Sav-on Drugs has offered its customers trusted pharmacists, quality products and the highest level of customer service. Today Sav-on operates approximately 370 stores in California and Nevada.

“After 60 years, we are honored that Sav-on Drugs has become such a recognized household brand in many Southern California and Las Vegas homes. We are thrilled that so many customers have placed their trust in our stores and our pharmacists,” said Larry Johnston, Albertsons chairman, CEO and president. “We are proud to highlight this anniversary with our commitment of additional community-service hours and donations to the neighborhoods that have supported us over the years.”

Building on its long history of commitment to its communities, Sav-on Drugs will provide $60,000 to non-profit organizations in Southern California and Las Vegas during the celebration. Recipients of the donations include Para los Ninos, Educating Young Minds, The Bob Hope USO, Covenant House, North County Serenity House and Opportunity Village.

Sav-on associates have also pledged 60,000 hours of volunteer service to the community during the company’s 60th Anniversary year. Working with established partners and developing new partnerships with community organizations, Sav-on volunteers will provide health screenings, mentoring, tutoring, and conduct service projects throughout Southern California and Las Vegas.

In-store events, promotions and sweepstakes are being offered during the month-long Sav-on Drugs anniversary celebration. With more locations, more pharmacists and more stores open 24 hours, Sav-on Drugs is working hard to make life easier for our customers.
