Vidueira – Editor @ Hispanic Magazine.

Hispanic Publishing announced that Joe Vidueira will become the new editor of Hispanic Magazine as of August 1. He will succeed Carlos Verdecia, who resigned on Monday.

Verdecia, who has been at Hispanic Magazine’s helm for the last six years, previously launched and edited Newsweek en español and El Nuevo Herald. He led Hispanic to several national awards.

Vidueira, who has been managing editor at Hispanic since 2003, has held several other positions at Hispanic Publishing, which publishes the magazine. From 2001-2003, he was editor of Hispanic Trends, a national business glossy that is also produced by Hispanic Publishing; and since 2001 he has served as the editor of HispanicOnline.com, the company’s web portal. Before joining Hispanic Publishing, Vidueira wrote for such publications as the Palm Beach Post, Fort Lauderdale¹s Sun-Sentinel and People magazine. He is a former editor at Vista, a Sunday newspaper magazine for Hispanic Americans.

The company also announced Tuesday that Elizabeth Arango has been named the magazine’s marketing manager. Arango has been a sales and marketing manager for Editorial Televisa titles National Geographic and Cristina La Revista. She has been with Editorial Televisa for four years.

“The magazine has come a long way in the last six years, and these changes will ensure continued success in the next six–and beyond,” said Sam Verdeja, publisher and CEO of Hispanic Publishing Associates.
